And just like that, 2016 has ended and made way for a shiny, brand-new year 2017!
I wish you all a very happy, healthy, and most importantly a creative new Year - may 2017 be blessed and full of love, kindness and empathy for us all.
Looking over my news section, I realize that I haven't posted an update since August. Entschuldigung. Things got quite busy, I simply forgot. So, without further ado, here's a quick update, and a heartfelt "thank you" to these last months of 2016, which have been rich and filled with joy and creativity.
"Assangelkisses" has been waiting to happen for a long time, so I am immensely proud to say that we finally started shooting this gorgeous, Berlin-based comedy. I am honoured to play the lead role of NORMA, a clumsy, down-on-her-luck, newly-single and completely hapless 30-something Berliner, who needs to learn an important lesson.
Having shot most of the indoors scenes, we are currently on a winter break (ah, these Berlin winters are just too cold...), and wil resume shooting the outdoor scenes in the spring. I can't wait to see the finished film and for it to hit the festival circuit!
"Finding Dory" - Berlin Premiere
Rarely does a movie make me cry and laugh at the same time - FINDING DORY did exactly that. And it did so beautifully. DISNEY very kindly invited me to the German premiere of their latest offspring. It was a genuinely delightful evening, with an even more delightful film.
DAfF Awards Show
I am a member of and proudly support the German Academy for Television / Deutsche Akademie für Fernsehen. Its annual symposium is followed by an awards show and glorious afterparty. This is always a great moment to catch up with colleagues and review some of the best moments in German television of the past year. And, as you can tell from the phote, we had lots of fun with the photo booth.
From left to right: Wrapping up 2016, I had a blast shooting a supporting role in the upcoming feature film FREAK CITY (d: Andreas Kannengießer / p: Leyendas) - my first ever nightshoot! I loved supporting and meeting German Familiy Minister Manuela Schwesig on the occasion of the "Equal Pay Day 2017" event in Berlin. Likewise, I had massive fun helping out with and shooting a 90-second "about me" video for "BFFS ungeschminkt", the German actors' union brilliant selftape project, which brings together Berlin actors and casting directors. Stay tuned for the screening in 2017. Last but not least, I updated my youtube channel with a little comedy stand-up Christmas address. You can check this, as well as my other reels and scenes, out on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
